Louisville Date Nights and Family Fun!

Louisville’s Date Nights and Family Fun!

Get a Sitter & Go!

An Award Winning Musical

After the last two years of the pandemic it is finally summer and what better way than to celebrate by booking the ultimate date, a night at the theater to see Hamilton! The theater industry suffered globally throughout the pandemic but, as a phoenix, has risen from the ashes to once again entertain audiences with hit musicals like this award winning sensation.

Hamilton is now showing at The Kentucky Center in Louisville until June 19th and promises to be a spectacular show. It’s based on the story of one of America’s founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton, and takes audiences through an educational and cultural journey of the origins of the United States. This musical features hip hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway styles through music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda. It has won Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and even a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

With a running time of 2 hours 45 mins and use of strong language we recommend getting a sitter for this one, and enjoy a night out!

A Wild Night at Louisville Zoo

Fancy a wild night in the Zoo exclusively for adults? Then be sure to block out your schedule for Zoofari! This one night only event, Saturday June 11th, is set to transport audiences back into the Prohibition era. Joined by the Friends of the Louisville Zoo for a ‘Roaring into the Twenties’ themed extravaganza, delight in speciality appetizers and cocktails while you enjoy the VIP speakeasy including animal encounters and lots of giveaways. Head along to the Islands exhibit where you may even see colorful birds, orangutans, and the Sumatran tiger!

By attending Zoofari you will not only have a memorable night out; you will also be supporting the Louisville Zoo by contributing to its vital fundraiser. Money raised will go towards the Louisville Zoo’s MetaZoo education facility and the Animal Ambassador Program. Fundraising events such as Zoofari mean that the Zoo can continue to nurture and introduce an appreciation for wildlife and species throughout the world.

Bring the Kids! (and the Dog!)

Shakespeare in the Park

Rally the little ones (and even the dog) for Shakespeare in the Park performing Twelfth Night this Saturday and Sunday in Central Park. Not only will the whole family enjoy an evening of literary genius but you can also expect delicious food trucks and a gift shop with goodies like Bamba eggrolls and Froggy’s Popcorn. The show itself is set to kickoff at 8pm and will finish at approximately 10.30pm.

If you can’t get enough of the Shakespeare themed performances then why not stay up for Late Night Shakes, a short improvised Shakespeare play from Louisville Improvisors. The show is due to immediately follow the main stage performance lasting until 11.00pm.

Bottom Line

Whether you’re an adult looking for a unique, fun date night or you're a parent wanting to take your kids on a literary adventure, these Louisville events are the places to be. Make it a summer to remember and enjoy all of what Louisville has to offer!
