Juneteenth is just around the corner. This will mark the first full year of its recognition as a national holiday and the third annual Louisville Juneteenth Festival is almost underway! This four day festival features over 70 Black businesses, musical performances, and a wide range of delicious food. It’s sure to be a memorable occasion.
The Line Up
Day 1
The festival kicks off Thursday the 16th with a workshop and social at The Presley Post designed for creatives, professionals, and founders. Come enjoy delicious refreshments, and an opportunity to network with other professionals. You can expect keynote speakers, music, and vision boarding so be sure to pack your business cards!
Day 2
Friday is the ‘Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam’ at the Old Foresters Paristown Hall. This slam, created by Rheonna Nicole and led by Louisville local women, brings poets from across the country to battle it out to be championed the Juneteenth edition title. Get ready for a memorable night!
Day 3
Day 3 of the festival brings Culture, Business, and Bourbon to the Rabbit Hole Distillery. This event, targeted at entrepreneurs, startups, and small business owners, is set to be an evening full of dialogue, networking, music, and even a CEO panel Q&A that will answer your burning business questions. You can also expect to sample delicious Gourmet Food from Still Winning Kitchen.
Day 4
The line-up culminates with the Festival at the Belvedere complete with its ‘Do Something Black Today VIP Lounge’ where you’ll enjoy VIP treatment complete with bourbon cocktails, art performances and live music.
If you're down to party through the night be sure to pay a visit to the LJF Afterparty at the Wiggle Room. It’s the perfect way to see out the Juneteenth celebrations. The night dictates strictly upscale attire and promises lots of Black owned food trucks serving delicious food to keep you going into the early morning.
